  • Something to smile about...

Friday night my mum attended a 10/10/08 Taiwan National Celebration Dinner in the city.

Well the thing was, she didn't plan on going. But her friends ended up dragging her along.

So my mum bought a ticket.

Also rather noteworthy, there was raffle to be drawn on the night. With 1st prize being a Sydney/Taipei Return Airfare Ticket.

Anyway, fast-forward a long night.. my mum came home with a pretty big smile on her face.

now if that ticket were to mysteriously go missing...  >=]

Another time, another place.. maybe things could have been different

It was never going to be easy.. sigh, been so emotional today. But im relieved a resolution has been made. I knew it had to be done, otherwise both of us would have been more hurt in the long-run. I guess we're both coping pretty well, despite the circumstances.

I really appreciate how my friends have been trying to cheer me up. haha, thanks guys. And eddie, wrote something pretty insightful despite the reference to cheeseburgers.

You know pat, its because of Fate that people come into our lives, and you should take these chances to learn from each person who enters your life.

Good things dont always last forever, it's the process of enjoyment thats most worth it. Its not like after you finish eating a cheeseburger, you can cry over it. you can only wait until the next time you come across maccas, where you can enjoy cheeseburger again.

Give yourself a time limit.  you're a guy, so give yourself MAX a week, so then we can all go out and have some fun =)

Fate, Faith and Time are basically the key factors to be considered in life's unfortunate events.

lol, thanks eddie.. though it's gonna take abit longer than a week.

  • Indigestion? It comes with the culture...

Yayyy! Im in such a good mood nowadays. Just finished my midsem exams so there's alot to be happy about. Speaking of which, Happy Graduation to all the Year 12s!! oh, and goodluck for that hsc thingo =)

Yesterday, i woke up early and couldnt decide whether to go uni or not, since i only had one lecture for the day. But then i felt it would be slightly antisocial to stay at home and bumm. So i went to uni. But what really made me frustrated was when the 90min contracts lecture finished in like 15mins. So i basically spent 50mins train-ing it to uni for just 15 mins of nothing. -_-

Anyway, after the lecture, Matty and i went to find Eddie and Kim who were having lunch. We joined them at some chinese noodle place on sussex st, but didn't order anything since we already ate. But then the stupid waiter was like.. sorry, minimum charge is $7 per person. So basically it was either pay $7 to sit there, or eat something worth $7.

Omg, how stupid. As law students we knew this wasn't exactly legal, but there seemed no point making it an issue. So we both ordered a bowl of noodles. And then i was reminded of how full i still was. Like SERIOUSLY FULL. I had just eaten a proper lunch meal 30mins ago. So i had no clue how i was going to finish my noodles.

Then i looked at the untouched noodles. It was a bowl of perfectly good food. Food which the sweaty, balding, toothless chef had specially made for me. It would be an awful shame to waste it. And then i thought of the starving children in South Africa (okay, not really.. i was still thinking of the sweaty, balding, toothless chef which really killed my appetite).

But at that very moment, a miraculous thing happened. Something deep, deep within me told me to eat those noodles. This powerful force compelled me not only to eat those noodles, but to finish the entire bowl.

The force to which i refer to is 'being a cheap asian' ^_^ v

Hahahahaha, yes, im serious. I had to eat up the money i spent. xP

And think about it. What kind of cheap (normal) asian would waste an entire bowl of noodles? Even if a cheap (normal) asian had just finished eating an entire cow, he/she would not waste food which he/she paid for. Right? Of course!

Confucius once said: "He who is cheap asian, finish bowl of noodles" (not really)

Im glad to be a cheap asian. =]

    And so should you.

    Eat up =9

  • The Beautiful Woman...

Don't you hate it when you wake up at 5am in the morning in hopes of getting some productive study done, and you find yourself on facebook, youtube and then updating your xanga blog?

okay, maybe it's just me. -_-

Yesterday i had an interesting day at work. As some of you may or may not know, i work at a law firm one day a week in the city. What's interesting about where i work (Mackenzie & Goldstein Legal), is that all the lawyers and solicitors there are korean. Every one of them. And all the clients are korean too. I remember the first day i arrived, one of the solicitors greeted me in korean. anyonghaseyo!

    i was like..umm.. hi !

Also, the floor of our building is occupied by koreans (our office is next to a Saesoon church office)  So i find it slightly amusing how im probably the only one working on the floor who isnt korean. But it's okay, my boss says i look korean so that's good enough. hahaha

Anyway, yesterday i overhead one of our senior partners of the firm was talking about some clients coming in for appointments. Then between all the korean (which i cant understand) i picked out 'beautiful woman' as he talked. I was thinking.. what? what beautiful woman?

About half an hour later, i found myself dozing off. Our boss had taken us out to lunch, which he does every week, and i ate way too much (which i tend to do when the food is free).  So there i sat at my desk, feeling all nicely stuffed and noticing how comfortable my padded leather chair was.

    Then... ZZZzzzzzzzz

Hahahaha, oh crap. Luckily, i snapped out of my little nap when a client arrived. It was mainly because both our senior law partners walked past my desk and came out to greet her. So my attention was diverted to our client and then *jaw drop* i tried to hide my grin, because suddenly it all clicked. I must admit, our client was really quite the 'beautiful woman' lolol  I swear, our whole office was secretly googling at her.

About 20mins later, 'beautiful woman' had left.. and again i found my eyelids alittle heavy. Most of the lawyers had also left the office to go to court.

Then one of the senior partners called me into his room.

I was thinking uh oh... why does he want to talk to me? Am i in trouble? Is it because i fell asleep? omg, im gonna get in trouble because he saw me fall asleep!!!

Anyway, the conversation when something like this:

    Boss: Patrick..

    Me: yes?

    Boss: Can i ask you..

    Me: Mmm?

    [Pause]

Boss: How much do you think i weigh?

Me: Errrrr (LOL, i was thinking.. what? so random. hahaha)

Me: I have no idea.. 80kg??

Boss: Really? Do you think im fat?

Me: Haha, nooooo.. of course not. You look very fit.

Boss: *laughs* hmm, how much do you weigh? 70?

Me: oh yea, im around 70 (lie, im actually more like 63kg..lol)

Boss: Ahh, yes. You are quite tall.. you should be more heavy.. eat more.

    Me: Yeahh i should.

[feeling really confused at this point]

Boss: Okay, so you dont think im fat right?

    Me: No, you're normal.

Boss: *looks at his stomach* Okay, thank you Patrick.

LOL, what was that?!?! How random. I bet you 'beautiful woman' made my boss suddenly so self-conscious. Ahh, what a funny guy.. xD

Anyway, i'll end this post with a picture of hyori.. in keeping with my korean theme. :)
